Thoughts about a road trip

I was on Google maps today for work.  I started looking at some of the old Federal roads that predate the interstate highway system.  It is amazing the distances some of these roads cover.  We all have heard of Route 66 running from Chicago to LA.  The road itself does not got the full distance but now but is still a iconic road.  My thoughts then turned to roads that I have grown up near.

I looked at U.S. 60.  I turned on the Wiki on Google maps and started scrolling along going East to West.  The road starts at Virginia Beach VA on the Atlantic ocean and runs all the way to I 10 in Arizona.  Over 3000 miles in all and I think it would be a fun drive.  Pick a spring day, and soft top and just drive with no real time table.  If I count it correctly it would be 8 states, Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona.

This post is not going where I was thinking it would.  I may need to actually take time and right it out.  I hope everyone has a great weekend
